 Killer Kenwood Sound, would be even better with a an Amp July 31, 2010

I bought these to replace my stock 6x9's in my '06 Corolla. Needless to say, they sound way better. Yeah, the grills are something to be desired, but they don't really matter if you're able to install the speakers under the rear deck.
I just did a staight swap-out, dropped 'em in, and connected them to the stock wires. For now, I'm running them off the stock head unit, till my new Kenwood gets here. These speakers !!ROCK!!, even w/the crappy Toyota stereo, they've got some thump, great mids, and detailed highs, everything you'd expect from Kenwood . But, I will definatly be investing in an amp to bring out their true potential sound, as I'm sure there's alot more to be heard from these bad boys. I reccomend these to anyone looking for a high-quality product at a great price.

I was getting (and now have) a Kenwood head unit because I wanted the feature that allows you to measure your acceleration with the radio. I tried to get my other equipment from Kenwood also. I found that the amp, speakers, subwoofer and box all worked very well together, which is what I wanted.
I also found the prices to be reasonable. I think the Kenwood equipment, including the speakers, were a very good value and I am still pleased with my purchase over 6 months later.

These are great speakers for improving your cars sound system. They installed without an issue and sound great. The highs are loud and the lows are alright, not sub quality but will get the job done. Overall I am happy with them and if I had to do it all over again I would still buy these 6 X 9's. One word of advice, check what your head units RMS rateing is because these arn't your stock speakers, they do need more power. It states RMS 90 Watts but you should power these between 75-90% of that rating. Most, if not all head units cant supply that amount of power so if you really want these to thump, buy an amp, but if you just want to improve you car sound without ticking off the neighbors, these will do the trick.

This is the demo video for the Kenwood KFC-6982ie 6x9 5 way speakers. Not exactly sure how this will turn out since it is going to be played through computer speakers, but the goal here was to show that these speakers, even when cranked up to nearly maximum volume, do not crackle, distort, or become muffled or anything of the sort. At near maximum volume (without an amplifier) these speakers produce clear, deep, crisp sound. And it is a shame that I have to get rid of them :( they were the pride and joy of my previous car when I had them in. And sadly, they dont fit my new car :( otherwise I would have jumped at the bit to install them ASAP. But all I have in my new car is 6 1/2" speakers. My previous one was the same, but due to the fact that it was a 1997 with 150000+ miles on it, we(my friend and I) figured that it would be fun and well worth the time to custom fit these bad boys in the rear deck of the car. And I loved it when we finished it. Anyways, to see the spec sheet on these speakers, I have posted the crutchfield link below. And if you wanted to see these things in action with the amplifier and all (back in my old car, go watch my other video "Cole Gets Hit" and the blue Subaru you'll see in it has the stereo cranked up only to a volume of 10 (out of 35). It doesn't show the stereo or anything but my camera was a good 50 feet away and the sound came through nice and clear. Thanks for watching my horrible demo video.
