I bought these as a replacement for a pair of Bose QC3s--quite a step down the audio ladder. But despite their tremendous comfort, audio quality and apparent build quality, the Bose didn't hold up well at all. And when they had fallen into a thousand little pieces, Bose said, "For $100, we'll take a look at them." I don't think so.
So I went on a quest to locate replacements, and came up with the JVC HAS700. While the seem flimsy (and indeed, there is a little hinge pin that works its way out an needs to be replaced periodically), they really aren't. They're lightweight, but well constructed. This is about as good as you're going to find at this low, low price. For less than Bose wanted to think about repair, you can consider these disposable.
Good Set of Circumaural Phones March 2, 2010

Good. Not SUPER, but good. Also what do you expect for 40 USD for a set of Circumaural phones?
I like em, a lot. Nice and comfortable and fit OVER my ears well. The sound is good, and good enough for the price.
I wanted a set of phones to block some noise as my ears have become more and more sensitive to IEM's.
Noise CANCELLING? NO WAY
Noise REDUCING? YOU BET!
Excellent choice for me and I am happy i bought them. I would recommend buying for sure.
 Excellent Headset for ipod March 2, 2010

I spent a month going over headsets to compliment my new ipod touch. I looked at all brands including Bose and ended up buying the JVC HA-S700 Headset. Just look at the specs and you see they surpass most other brands including the high end headphones that give you specs. They look great and better yet fit perfect, are comfortable and sound fantastic with my ipod touch. No more cranking up the volume to hear and no more ear pieces that hurt the ears. Great product and even better is the price for such a nice set of headphones.
