The item may be just fine, I have no way of knowing, I could not use it. I know I need to step into the 21st century but my television only has coaxial cable hook up, I did not know when I ordered this item that it only has digital hook up.
The only reason I'm giving this a low rating is not because of the item obviously but the service that I received from the company, bestbuyonly1, which have some very rude customer service people. I mean, I know I should have made sure that I could use the product. I actually spent all morning searching for a DVD/VCR combo that I could use. Making sure that I put my criteria in the search engine, but it brought this up even though it was not exactly what I was searching for. After purchasing and realizing my mistake, I wrote a very apologetic email to the seller asking if I could return it. Someone wrote back but they obviously didn't read my email and just told me that I could purchase coaxial cables on their website. So after complaining to Amazon and the seller, I received a second email telling me that they would accept my return and refund my money, if I took the negetive feedback away. What!?! I thought the whole reason behind giving feedback was to alert potential buyers of either good or bad issues that you had. Amazon was great about it though and after sending them the second email, they told me that my account would be credited.

This unit was a gift for my brother, which I had to set up for him. Setting up the unit was easy and it performed just as described!You can't go wrong with this item.

We cannot get this VCR to work. Both my husband and daughter have had no luck setting it up to play or record let alone both. It seems as if it would be easy to use if it worked. I can't help but feel that we are missing something. Since we bought it online, we don't feel as if there is a customer service rep who can walk us through the set-up or answer technical questions.

I bought this unit used through Amazon. I had to return it as the VCR portion did not record well. It made whirring noises during the playback. Very disappointed.

Worked great once hoked up, my ONLY complaint is that the extra sound jecks going to my stereo ONLY work with the DVD player.
