 Great for anyone who already owns DVD's from other countries September 5, 2010

I am a huge fan of many BBC shows - so I love this player. I had never had BluRay before & this is awesome! The duel function for me of being able to watch all of me regular DVD sets from the UK and also be able to watch all new BluRay movies is stellar!

I purchased this player primarily to play UK purchased PAL DVDs on my US NTSC TV. The PAL to NTSC conversion is fine, however it does NOT play any region encoded DVDs from outside the US. I can play my home recorded family DVDs but no movie DVDs purchased in Europe. A complete con.
Perfect Multi Region Code DVD player August 22, 2010

If you are in need of a fantastic Multi Region Code DVD player then this one by JVC is a perfect solution.
I'm American and my wife is German; needless to say we own DVDs in both languages, as well as in both NTSC and PAL formats. Other DVD players we tried in the past we had to somehow unlock the multi region capability. Not with this player though, it plays all regions right out of the box.

THIS IS A GREAT DVD/BLU-RAY PLAYER. IT WAS EASY TO INSTALL, PLAYED MY REGION 2 DVDS WITH NO PROBLEMS.
THE PICTURE IS VERY CLEAR AND I WILL DEFINATELY RECOMMEND THIS ITEM TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

This player does everything I expected. I did not have an HDMI input on my older Samsung DLP set, but with the help of an HDMI to DVI plug adapter, I was able to connect the JVC player to the DVI input (the supplied sound cables must also be used for this connection).
I have ordered region 2 PAL DVDs from Amazon UK; they automatically size to fit my screen. In fact the automatic sizing works on all normal and wide screen DVDs.
