Product Description
Remember your first time listening through headphones? The JVC HA-NC250 refreshes the entire experience. Noise-cancelling headphones reduce unwanted ambient sounds (i.e., acoustic noise) by means of active noise control. You get to hear more of what you want to listen. The JVC HA-NC250 is an extremely effective pair of noise-cancelling headphones, with up to 85% noise reduction with feedback technology, as well as memory foam cushion and extremely smooth ear-pad surface that isolate background noise effectively. Use the HANC250 as a pair of normal headphones when the noise-cancel mode is turned off. Turn down the noise and listen. It's like hearing for the first time. The headphone uses a 40mm neodymium driver in each earpiece. For comfort and portability, the JVC HA-NC250 is one of the lightest headphones in its class, weighing just 5.3 ounces. It folds flat, and when folded is slimmer than most competing models. Included with the HA-NC250 are a slim carrying case, a four-foot detachable cord, airline dual plug adapter, and -inch plug adapter for use with many home audio and video components. The headphones use a single 1.5-volt AAA battery for powering the noise cancellation circuitry. Battery life is rated at up to 50 hours (alkaline). Whether you're listening to your portable or your home sound system, the HA-NC250 are a natural match. Memory Foam cushion earpads. Also function as regular headphones

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy the recommended extension cord!   July 30, 2010
never enough time (Montreal)
Other reviewers have mentioned that the cord that comes with these headphones is too short. The "Maxell HP-20 Headphone Extension Cord with Adapters" looks like a great suggestion, however it cannot replace the cord that comes with the headphones. This is because the Maxell cord has only one male jack, while the headphone cord has two.

5 out of 5 stars A good headphones for the long flight to Bangkok   July 29, 2010
Bangkok traveler
I never wanted to spend $400 for a noise reduction headphones. I think that those Bose are highly priced for no reason. Yes they are good, but how about this JVC HANC250? It is the best for a moderate price, not cheap but under $150. I used it for the first time on my trip to Bangkok, and I was impressed. The noise reduction was almost 100 percent, and I could really listen to and understand what the actors were saying in the movie, something I had not been able to appreciate before with the regular headphones provided by the airline itself.

2 out of 5 stars Average at best. You get what you pay for...   July 27, 2010
WWtraveler
I've had these headphones for over a year now. I am a frequent traveler with over 100,000 miles of air travel since I purchased this product. Sound quality is good, espcially when you turn the unit on, bass quality is excellent. As for noise cancellation, there is a hissing and humming sound even when there is no background noise. You cannot wear this for more than an hour without adjustment because your ears will start to hurt. On ear headphones feature's flaw is that it makes your ears hot and painful after a few hours. Due to discomfort, I have not used this during my last 10 trips. Looking to purchase QC 15 as my next choice. If you are looking for average NC headset, this may work for you but stay away if you are looking for quality and comfort.

5 out of 5 stars Very Happy   July 26, 2010
Traintime (Los Angeles, CA United States)
This is the only pair of noise reduction headphones that I have bought, so I can not compare them to others. What I can say is that I chose these at $119 over the the Bose at $300-$360 and I am very happy with them. On the plane when I switch the noise reduction on, they put me in my own quiet space. I have flown a lot, and as people go I rate myself as a pretty comfortable flyer. Nevertheless, these headphones have made flying a whole new experience for me. I can't think of flying without them.

4 out of 5 stars Better Than Bose QC   July 25, 2010
Amit Dhumash (Phoenix)
This is great product and I found it better than Bose.
Good : Sound quality, NC feature, light weight, detachable cord for ease of use, comfort, good price.
Problems : Small cord, tricky battery insertion.

www.noisefreeheadphones.com . The new JVC HA-NC250 combines outstanding sound quality with advanced noise-canceling and isolation technologies to provide a superior listening experience. The HA-NC250s noise cancellation circuitry includes feedback technology that constantly monitors the noise cancellation process. As a result, the headphones eliminate up to 85 percent of extraneous background noise. To further block noise, the HA-NC250 offers two JVC innovations that help isolate the listener from outside sounds. First, each earpiece employs a double housing structure for an extra sound insulation layer. Second, JVC developed a new technique for attaching the headphones smooth memory foam cushioned ear pads to the housing that helps isolate background noise. The smooth pads also enhance comfort.
