Dissapointed March 7, 2010 H. A. Usmani I was disspointed when i received the headphones. Apart from the horrible seller (never buy used headphones), the sound quality was sub-par. I bought these headphones as an improvement of sound quality from my Coby $5 in-ear headphones. I was totally wrong. First of all, all the reviews said that the headphones were one of the best in its class. I went to amazon and found these were a little different in SKU number than the review ones, but they had the same name. I thought that they werent different, but boy do i hope i was wrong. IF and ONLY if you push and press the headphones into your ear canal (which is more comfortable than it sounds) can you hear the sound as being superior. But that goes with practically every headphone (including the $5 Coby ones). I thought that this was because of the tips (the tips NEED to fit your ear) and ive used the same skull cnady tips for 5 headphone cycles. I tested it vigorously thinking that "you get what you payed for" rule applied. I was wrong. To begin with, the voice (20Hz frequency for most songs i think) was terrible and sounded soo 3D that it became incomprehensible. The reverb effect was too sensitive I am guessing. The Bass was not too evident but the instruments were VERY clear. The great instrumental sounds come with a setback. They are louder and more clear, so its even more difficult to listen to what the songs are saying. I like the instruments being in the background while the lyrics and vocals are what your paying attention too. The only good part of these headphones were the great base equalization (not too much, not too little). Other wise, I would NEVER recommend this headphone to anyone, try the skullcandy (have great tips, clarity and base) or the Coby (Clarity is amazing, and with the skullcandy tips, hands down the best in its range)
Horrible March 6, 2010 MBS Purchased these at half the store cost and the seller was very quick to send out. Now for the product, these are by far the worst headphones I have ever had. There is no bass and you have turn the volume way up to get any type of descent level. I will be returning them. I purchased instead at a local store for the same cost a SONY MDRE828LP/SLV, these so far are fantastic for the $10 cost. Good bass and great sound level. Put the JVC to shame.
Lousy March 5, 2010 D. Barnes (Portsmouth, VA USA) Earbuds have terrible sound quality in general, and these are no different. I bought these because I thought they'd be more comfortable than regular earbuds but they really weren't. They're just as bad as the freebies they used to give you on airplanes. They're not worth returning so they just went in the trash.
Great headphones at a great price! February 28, 2010 Just Someone (Maine) I love these headphones. They fit nicely in the ear, though sometimes it takes a moment or two to settle them just right. They have some of the best sound of all the in-ear headphones I've tried, they're comfortable to wear, and because of their great design, they never get tangled up. I bought the same ones for my husband, and I'd recommend them for anyone looking for great, comfortable sound at a price that won't gouge too much out of your bank account.
you can't beat this for $10! February 27, 2010 Patrick H. Nguyen I just bought these along with the Panasonic RP-HJE300 earphones. I really like the JVC ones. It's great for $10. The fit is pretty comfortable. I must note that I have small ear holes and find a lot of earphones out there become irritating after awhile but these can sit fine. The sound is pretty good. the mids and highs are very good and clear. the bass is not so good. if you have an equalizer, you'll definitely be doing a bass enhancement. after you pump up the bass, these earphones sound great. the cord comes somewhat wrinkled due to the way they packaged it. kind of annoying since it's like wearing a wrinkled shirt. the cord length is acceptable. it comes with another pair of ear pieces if you find the default ones too small. the design is minimalistic, bordering on ugly. even the packaging is ugly (just a clear plastic box. but sound and comfort are the most important things and this one excels (except for lack of bass).
I'll compare the JVC to the other recently bought Panasonic ones. The Panasonic earphones were almost twice as expensive. They look really nice and are probably the most comfortable earphones you'll ever where. It's a weird design but it works. If I was solely picking comfort, it would definitely be the Panasonic. The sound however is mixed. It sounds somewhat muddled. For the Panasonic, I actually had to do a treble enhancement. If I had to pick solely on sound, I would lean toward the much cheaper JVC. The Panasonic comes with a straight and very long cord which is a great feature. It also has a drawstring pouch.
honestly, I wish I had the JVC sound in the Panasonic packaging. But it'd be hard to find earphones of similar sound quality to the JVC for $10.
