Just what I needed July 22, 2010 W. Oliver (Alabama) I wanted a CD player in my Nissan truck so I could listen to audiobooks. This one wasn't too expensive and it works fine. I did not install it myself and had a mechanic do it. The radio as well as the CD player works fine and I've had no problems with it after using it for 6 months. I've never used the remote and don't really understand why a person would need one but it is there if I ever do need it.
One minor complaint is that I can't figure out how to turn off the scrolling display - basically all I want to see is the time displayed. If anyone can tell me how to do this, I'd be most grateful!
GREAT!!! June 25, 2010 SHOPPER44 I was able to get my daughter the same exact radio that a big box store was selling for $50 less - all without any hassles, defects or problems. Will definitely buy from here again. 6 months later there is no problem with her radio.
great item June 8, 2010 zeb k (texas) works great - this is my second jvc and I really like it. Simple, basic and good performance
Great Radio April 21, 2010 Gary Pinkney (California) Great!! Radio I purchased this for my 2007 Suzuki Burgman 400 Which Fits Perfect in my Glove Box I really like it becuze it's more or Less China Parts,
Except the Romote which is made in China Pray that it will last a Long time as Remote goes, China not very good with Remotes,
But plays great and glad to have it installed,, Been thru 7 MP3 Players don't seem to last but 6 Months thru 1 Year, So this time Purchased a Auto Radio that will last 5 or 6 years or More ,Thank God...
Highly recommend, but not for older cars April 11, 2010 J. Malek I bought this product almost a year ago and have overall had a great experience with it. My old car stereo was stolen, and so I decided to get one with a detachable faceplate, and haven't had a problem since. It's easy to use and pretty intuitive. This is where things got complicated: Not knowing that much about car stereos, I wasn't aware that it wouldn't be compatible with my '96 Honda. A change was made sometime after 1996, and newer stereos have a different plug system for installation. I had to purchase a $20 harness and have my husband SOLDER wires together in order for it to fit. Others may be more savy than I am, but it would be nice if sellers noted that newer stereos are only compatible with newer cars! We could have had a store like Best Buy install it for us, but decided to do it ourselves to save money.
Other than that, my main criticism is that there isn't really a place to put my fingers when I am pressing the faceplate into place--the whole thing is filled with buttons, etc. Other than that awkwardness, it's held up perfectly and still plays like new. I haven't used the remote control, because I'm usually the only one in the car, but it might come in handy for families who are taking turns controlling what's on the radio--you don't have to be in the front seat to change it.

So I spent my work breaks this week and all of Saturday installing a new stereo in my car. It was quite a battle, and this video doesn't even come close to listing all the issues I ran into, but it should still give some people an idea of what to expect if they have an early 90's car.
New JVC Stereo JVC KD-R200

I got the new JVC KD R200 stereo for my car. It cost 79.99, the wire harness cost 19.99 and the dash kit cost 12.99. I installed it myself. If you got any questions just ask. Please rate and leave a comment, thanks.
How to install a JVC radio in a Dodge Ram, part 2

This is a step-by-step video of how to install a generic JVC KD-R200 radio into a 1998 Dodge Ram Quad-Cab. In this second part I illustrate how I wise the radio in a way that dosen't harm the truck.. I think it is real important to never modify the car's wiring or dash, I hate it when people just start cutting holes. When my install is done it all looks nice and factory but more importantly, everything could be removed and returned to stock to sell the truck for instance. I would appreciate any comments or questions, ideas or difficulties you might have. Post a video response of your project and how you were able to overcome it. I am a History teacher by trade but a tinkerer at heart. The truck is Cummins turbo diesel with about 150000 miles and numerous modifications including a pack break, propane injection, duel circuit ditch lights tied to the high/low beams, trailer break switch to kill breaks when pulling an empty trailer, fuel pump pressure boost light (you only kill one injection pump from starvation before you learn) electric lift pump to save the injector pump, remote heavy equipment fuel filter and a long range fuel tank that will let me go nearly 1000 miles between pumps.
