Product Description
Taiyo Yuden WaterShield blank media for inkjet disc printers! Unlike normal inkjet discs, WaterShield CDR's are water resistent, scratch resistant, and feature a glossy finish. There are several competitors, but only Taiyo Yuden Watershield White Inkjet CDR's have a Glossy Finish.

5 out of 5 stars Simply the Best   August 3, 2010
NewCD (Houston, Texas)
I bought the "Dymo Discpainter" that prints designs directly on printable CDs but I got very different results depending on the exact blank CDs I was using. I tried 5 or 6 different brands and styles. The last one was advertised as "glossy" so I had high hopes for a good result. Well, the ink never dried on that CD and it "stuck" to the top lid of the CD jewel case! Then I tried these CDs. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The image was beautiful. It gives a smooth mirror like finish with all the colors brightly shown. It also dries quickly and the ink doesn't "stick" to anything. As far as I'm concerned these are the ONLY printable CDs worth using. They are simply the best made.

5 out of 5 stars AMAZING PRODUCT   June 1, 2010

I bought these printable cds one week ago and all I can say is that I'm very surprised. When I observed the printed image so brilliant on the cd I though that whoever see this cd wouldn't believe that this is not original. For years I have used many others brands (hp, tdk, verbatin, etc...) with terrible results in music recording like stops and skips and getting opaque images after printing images. These cds are quite different, no problem to record and play music and in addition brilliant aspect of the printed images. It worths the price and from now on I will buy this product everytime I need.

5 out of 5 stars yep, these are the ones to get   January 8, 2010

These print up gorgeously. Used to print em on an Epson 960; these days print on them w/ an Epson Artisan 50. Use the Premium Surface option in Epson CD Print program. Plus they're Taiyo Yuden, so data should last as long as CD data lasts on any media. The DVD flavor is equally excellent. Can't recommend highly enuf.

5 out of 5 stars GREAT FOR PRINTING   July 7, 2009

I've tried others but the Taiyo Yuden Water Shield discs are the best for my needs. I use an Epson R280 inkjet for the printing and find that the glossy, high res, printed image is not damaged by moisture. The ink dries immediately and does not run or smudge - even when you pour water over it. And I haven't had a bad burn with any of the 100+ I've used so far. Well worth the extra money.

4 out of 5 stars Nice looking prints, but a bit fragile on the printed surface   January 13, 2009

Compability-wise, I didn't find any flaws with this media. It has no problems burning at 48X speed (that's the highest speed on my burner) and burned discs play fine everywhere I try them.

After I print to the disc using my Epson RX580, the prints looks marvelous. They look nice and shiny and they are hub printable which means it prints all the way to the center hole of the disc. However, after the ink dried (waiting at least 30 minutes), I tried rubbing the printed surface with my finger to check for smudge proof qualities. Without even rubbing very hard, I can easily put hairline scratches on the printed surface which makes that shiny printed spot look dull when you look at the disc at certain angles. I don't get any ink rubbing off, but I can see the rubbing scratch marks just the same as if the surface itself got scratched. After that, I didn't want to try throw water on it to test if it waterproof because the printed surface seemed kind of fragile already.
